3rd Presentation-Sudan

JAY: Alooo...first of all, i would like to wish 'HappY NeW YeaR' to everybody. Honestly, I don’t know much about Sudan. I wanna say ‘thank you’ to the presenter, a guy from Indonesia, Lutfi. Based on his presentation, it gains my knowledge about Sudan. I know the conflict about Darfur, but actually I don’t know where Darfur is located. It makes me realize that as a Muslim, we need to know about other Muslim countries, for example, we need to be aware about the conflict and issues in those countries. Furthermore, I thought that Sudan is a poor country. This is because, mostly the media expose about the poor part of Sudan and rarely expose the develop part of the country. Why is this happening? Is it some kind of propaganda by the media? Hurm, Its hard for me to give answers. Roughly, maybe most people will blame the poor management of Sudan government but the presenter said that he does not believe with that assumption.
For Lutfi presentation, I admitted that he was ready for the presentation because of well-prepared. He gave much useful information, which is why it is called informative speech. He had the confidence, clear in his words and knew what he was going to speak in his speech. On the other hand, his slide was also interesting. Although he did a great presentation, but there is a space for improvement such as his eye contact, he should focus at all audiences and not just look at front only. Em that’s all from me..Have a nice day!!!! Tata….

Yaya: Ni Hao! Today's presentation was about Sudan. I never knew a thing about Sudan so the info shared was such an eye-opener. it was an extensively prepared and well given presentation. the flow to me was like a storytelling session and the info was easy to absorb. i enjoyed it very much.

since Lutfi prepared extensively beforehand, he has the knowledge and cant wait to share with us all that he knew. he projected a confident image but not much eye contact was made and he talked in a hurried way, not too fast but just in a hurry to tell us all that he knew. much hand gestures were used. waaahhh! i wish i could deliver the speech like you!!!! ^o^

Eyllia: Assalamualaikum...today is the last day of year 2007 but it is not the end of the presentation :) well, today (31st DEC 2007) is the 3rd presentation in professional speech communication (COMM 3090) class, which delivered by LUTFI MUFTI, a guy from Jakarta, Indonesia..

What can i say about his presentation???He presents about Sudan which one of the Muslim country..I, myself do not know about Sudan at all until he gives lots of informative information about this country..after knowing this, i feel very grateful to be Malaysian because there is no war at all and children are well-educated.They can play delightly at playground every evening without feel fear about anything..In Sudan (what Lufti had presented), children in Darfur area are force to be rebellion army. for me, this is not the right time for them to sacrifice for the country but they have to do so..i feel sad about this situation.

anyway, about his presentation..he has the aura.he is well-prepared, he has the confidence, he speaks fluently and he knows what he is saying..this is a good effort! however, he has to improve in his eye-contact skill with the audience ad body gesture as well..all in all, Lutfi Mufti had done a great job! THANK YOU :)

2nd presentation_Afghanistan

JAY: halooo!!!!!!!.. we're back on the floor.
hurm, the second presentation was on December 28, 2007. it was presented by Amalina Munira and the tittle was Afghanistan. :-)
In my opinion, the presentation about Afghanistan has helped me a lot in gaining my knowledge. honestly this is because i'm not always reading newspapers. based on the presentation, now i know about the location of Afghanistan, historical background and the conflict or issues. it makes me realize that Afghanistan is a Muslim country but unfortunately they have many conflicts and being colonized by the powerful country. from my suggestion, we can help them by collecting donation and make a campaign about saving Afghanistan from the interference of other countries.

For Amalina's presentation, she manages to deliver the presentation successfully, she cathes the attention of the aundiences by asking questions and showing some pictures. i think she can improve on her response to the person that she asks the question, she could add her opinion the person's answer. hurm, i'm proud of u buddy!!!

Yaya: the topic presented was not in-depth much in my opinion but at least the info shared is basic and easy to digest.
whereas the presenter, she maintained short eye contact with several people but it was so brief that it gave me the impression that she is nervous. all in all, a job well done!

Eyllia: all right then, this is my turn to post the comment on Amalina's presentation..for me overall she did a good job in this topic. before this, i did not know about Afghanistan..just a little bit about it which media had presented to people..but now i know about what happen in Afghanistan even it is not in-depth information. She also good in managing her time..about the Q n A's session, well there's a room that she can improve it if she well-prepared for several questions that had been thrown to her. well, she seemed to be nervous but it was not disturbing the flow of her presentation..ALL THE BEST TO YOU!!! THANK YOU :)

1st Presentation - Iraq

The 1st presentation for our informative speech was presented this morning, 26th of December, by Sis NorSoleha (Yaya: did I get the spelling right?)
Topic Presented was on the country Iraq.

Eyllia: As for me, sis Sol had the confidence..She can improve her presentation in terms of tone and the way she answered the questions..Moreover, her presentation was abruptly started because she didn't open it with something that grab the attention of the audiences..Nevertheless, sis Sol's presentation was good :) ALL THE BEST SIS!!!

Yaya: In my very honest and humble opinion, I think that overall Sis Sol's presentation was good as well. she made a very good preparation as she provided us with the slides (which i did not even think of doing myself). i very much like the historical background of the topic but she did not include the country's current background info (eg. the current president, etc.) i would very much like to hear an in-depth info on the current issues of the country but i don't blame her for the lack of info that was delivered as the time given was only 10 minutes. her facial expression did not change when presenting and it gave me the impression that she seemed nervous and her tone was monotonous.
but all in all, it was good. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! ^o^

jay: now, its my turn to give my humble opinion. The historical background of Iraq involves the famous and flourishing like the Mesopotamia and the Sumerians. But nowadays, there are many conflict arise and the news about Iraq always appear in the media. The conflict in Iraq is mainly about conquering oil resources and its strategic location. The major conflicts are the First Persian Gulf War, the Second Persian Gulf War and the Third Persian Gulf War. The biggest story of Iraq in this century is about the September 11, 2001 attack in New York. It is the George W. Bush’s agenda and accuses Iraq has connection with Al-Qaida which is known as the terrorists. Then, he accuses Saddam Hussien and tries to capture him. The U.S attacks Iraq and captured the terrorists. The U.S. media also manipulate the readers and audiences in order to make people believe that the terrorists are like Saddam Hussien which are Muslim, wearing turban and jubah and long beard.
>>>>Regarding soleha's presentation, i think she did a great job because she has the confidence during her presentation. eventhough she has prepared for the presentation, she could improve on her voice tonation and gestures such as raise her voice at the important point and move about.
